Social Security Convention between Portugal and East Timor

Decree no. 21/2023, 7 August was published in the official gazette. This Decree introduced the Convention on Social Security between the Portuguese Republic and the Democratic Republic of East Timor.
The Convention aims to develop cooperation between the two countries in matters of Social Security, as well as to establish rules on coordination between national legislation and institutions in this area. This Convention also aims to ensure the rights acquired by nationals regarding training courses, reinforcing the social protection of migrant workers as a whole and, accordingly, enhancing their integration in the host countries and societies.
