Garrigues received the Regional Client Service Award in Latin America at the annual awards organized by UK directory Chambers & Partners to recognize the work of local and international firms operating in the region.

The publication, with more than twenty-five years’ experience in the legal industry, presents its awards following thorough research, including client feedback and the achievements accomplished in the region during the year. This latest accolade joins the recognition received by Garrigues from Chambers in April for its client service in Spain.

The international publication highlighted Garrigues’ ability to exceed client expectations, as well as its expansion in the region: Garrigues is the European law firm with the most extensive network of own offices in Latin America. The firm has offices in five countries (Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru) and a team of more than 150 lawyers, notably including thirty partners (at the last Partners’ Meeting held in early November, three of the twelve lawyers promoted to partner belonged to Latin American offices). The strength of the firm’s position in the region is reflected in revenues, which climbed 81% in the last year to more than 18 million euros. Chambers also valued Garrigues’ participation in key local transactions for the economic and social development of the countries in which the firm operates, as well as its capacity to advise on cross-border transactions at regional and international level.

Garrigues partner and head of the firm’s Latin American practice Javier Ybáñez affirmed that the award constitutes recognition of the firm’s international expansion model, based on the opening of own offices and a commitment to local talent: “This award confirms that we have succeeded in becoming a firm of choice in the Latin American market. Our goal is to continue working in the firm belief that we have much to offer our Latin American clients, not only in the strictly legal sphere, but also in other areas such as innovation and adaptation to technological advances, a strategic area for the firm.” Javier Ybáñez picked up the award at the ceremony held in Miami on Friday.
