Garrigues wins seven awards at ITR Europe Tax Awards 2026
The firm was named CJEU Firm of the Year and received industry honors in Spain and Portugal
Specialist tax publication International Tax Review (ITR) has honored Garrigues with seven awards at the ITR Europe Tax Awards 2026, which recognize outstanding tax and transfer pricing teams and professionals in Europe.
At regional level, the firm was named CJEU Firm of the Year, a category that recognizes excellence in tax matters relating to the Court of Justice of the European Union. Garrigues took home Transfer Pricing Law Firm of the Year in Spain and picked up Indirect Tax Law Firm of the Year and Transfer Pricing Law Firm of the Year in Portugal.
Lawsuits relating to the third decision of the European Commission on the tax deductibility of goodwill arising from indirect acquisitions of shareholdings in foreign companies, in which the firm represented major Spanish multinational groups before the European courts, were singled out as Impact Case of the Year.
In addition to this recognition, two lawyers also were also singled out for individual awards: Isabel Vieira Reis, tax partner at the Lisbon office, was named Indirect Tax Lawyer of the Year in the Practice Leaders category, while Miguel Juárez Castillo, principal associate at the Valencia office took Tax Litigation Lawyer Rising Star in the Rising Stars category.
These awards, now in their 22nd year, join other tax-related accolades earned by Garrigues so far this year, including Tax Advisory Firm of the Year at the 2026 Expansión Legal Awards and Tax Team of the Year at the 2026 Business Law Awards organized by El Confidencial.
The firm also continues to be ranked Band 1 or Tier 1 in all tax categories of the leading international directories, such as World Tax, Chambers and Legal 500.
