Fabian Melhem Assad joined Garrigues Mexico in 2024. He focuses his practice on the tax law department, specifically in tax consulting, corporate restructuring, M&A tax advisory, dispute resolution, and tax and customs litigation. With over five years of experience, Fabian has worked with clients across the retail, construction, agribusiness, IT, manufacturing, and maquiladora sectors.
Prior to joining the firm, he spent more than two years at Deloitte’s Tijuana office, as well as at a national firm specializing in the manufacturing and maquiladora industry.
He graduated with honors from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California with a degree in Law and has completed diplomas in financial accounting and taxation at the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP)

He has experience in tax consulting for both local and federal taxes, M&A tax advisory, and corporate restructurings. His practice also includes dispute resolution and tax and customs litigation, covering administrative appeals (recursos de revocación), annulment claims (juicios de nulidad), constitutional challenges, conclusive agreements, and administrative customs procedures (PAMA).
He provides tax advisory for both domestic and international transactions.
