Borja Parrondo Pons is a Senior Associate in the Tax Department at Garrigues, where he has developed his professional career since he joined the firm in 2015.
He is a member of the Tax Litigation group and regularly takes part in all types of tax proceedings, at every stage, in matters involving both Spanish and EU law.
Experience
Since he joined the firm in 2015, Borja has advised on a wide range of tax procedures (including tax audits and claims for the recovery of unduly paid taxes), and frequently represents clients before the courts (Supreme Court, National High Court, etc) as well as economic-administrative tribunals (TEAC and TEAR). He has also been actively involved in question of unconstitutionality and appeals for amparo before the Constitutional Court.
Within the Tax Litigation group, he has advised on local taxation (i.e. Property Tax, Tax on Construction, Installations and Works, Tax on increase in urban land value, Business Activity Tax, and municipal fees), as well as on proceedings to review and challenge cadastral valuations, for leading companies in sectors particularly affected by these taxes, such as real estate, energy services, telecommunications, parking, and leisure parks.
Borja also provides ongoing tax advice to national and international companies and large corporate groups across various sectors, including hospitality, advertising and media, healthcare, and retail, among others.

- Master's Degree for Admission to the Bar (with specialization in Tax Law) - Universidad Pontificia Comillas
Teaching activity
He has been involved in the firm’s internal tax training programs, taking part in various training sessions and teaching courses at the Garrigues Study Center.
