Aurelio Orrillo is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Department at Garrigues, where he has pursued his professional career since 1993. He is the partner in charge of the Pamplona office.
He specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts and securities market law.
He holds a Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Business Law from Universidad de Navarra. He also teaches classes on the Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Pública de Navarra.
Aurelio has featured several times in US publication Best Lawyers as one of the best Spanish M&A lawyers and was named Lawyer of the Year (Pamplona) in the Corporate and M&A area in 2020. He speaks Spanish and English.
Aurelio Orrillo has been the partner in charge of the Pamplona office since 2006. He has spent his entire professional career at J & A Garrigues, first at the Seville office (1993) and then in San Sebastian (2002).
In the corporate law area, Aurelio has extensive experience acting as secretary or legal adviser to companies (including listed companies) and foundations. He works on the implementation and development of corporate governance rules.
Aurelio coordinates the negotiation and execution of M&A transactions. In this field, he has considerable expertise in the management and resolution of pre-litigation situations deriving from disputes between shareholders.
He has broad experience in the acquisition of production units in the context of insolvency proceedings.
He is also involved in refinancing operations and their execution.
Aurelio advises on international joint venture transactions and processes for the internationalization of Spanish companies abroad.
He also provides advice on and performs refinancing and real estate transactions (regulation of shopping centers, licenses, etc.).
He also has extensive experience in the resolution of pre-litigation queries and issues in the area of intellectual and industrial property law. He habitually advises on the legal implementation of family protocols at corporate (bylaws) and personal (wills, incapacity planning, etc.) level.
In litigation matters, he has a wealth of experience in defining the procedural strategy in both court and arbitration proceedings and in the conduct of such proceedings.
In particular, in insolvency matters, he has led work for the acquisition of production units or assets of insolvent companies, coordinating the relationships between the court, the insolvency manager and the company.
He is an expert in Navarra provincial law.
He is an associate lecturer on corporate law at Universidad Pública de Navarra. He has collaborated with Universidad de Navarra, teaching classes on the Master’s Degree in Business Law. He currently coordinates and teaches classes in Corporate Law on the University Master’s Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at Universidad Pública de Navarra.
From 2013 to 2016, Aurelio Orrillo has been included as one of the best Spanish lawyers in the commercial law and M&A areas by US publication Best Lawyers.
