Alejandra Abal Caamaño is a senior associate in the Corporate Law and Commercial Contracts practice at the Madrid office. Currently, she is a resident lawyer at the New York office.
Part of the mergers and acquisitions (M&A) team, she has extensive experience in advising both domestic and international investment funds and industrial operators in relation to the sale and purchase of companies and businesses, joint ventures, mergers and other corporate restructurings. Alongside her global experience in the field of private equity, she has assisted in domestic and cross-border transactions across a wide range of industries, including the financial services, food and consumer goods, health and orthodontic care services, retail and IT industries.
She is also a member of the Distressed M&A – Investment Funds team and has significant expertise in advising international funds and other distressed-market operators in relation to the sale and purchase of non-performing loans and REO portfolios, including secondary transactions.
Besides the above, she provides recurring advisory services on corporate law and contractual elements to Spanish companies and international groups with presence in Spain, and she has participated in several financing transactions.
Alejandra is member of the Madrid Bar Association.
Academic background:
Dual Master’s Degree in Access to the Legal Profession and Business Law, Universidad de Navarra. Graduating with a cum laude distinction.
Dual degree in Law and Business Administration, Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid (ICADE E-3).
Under an Erasmus program, she studied at École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales of Paris (ESSEC).
