Portugal: Government extends tax deadlines after electrical failure that affected the Tax Authority’s Portal

The Portuguese Government approved the extension of several tax deadlines following the constraints experienced in accessing the Finance Portal.
Following the unexpected power outage that affected the entire Iberian Peninsula on April 28, 2025, the Portuguese Tax Authority’s Portal (Portal das Finanças) is expiring significant disruptions, hindering access and compliance with several tax obligations.
In response to this exceptional situation, the Portuguese Government approved a set of measures to extend tax deadlines:
These extensions were established by Order SEAF no. 78/2025 - XXIV, of May 6, and Order SEAF no. 79/2025 - XXIV, of May 8.
