The firm received the Mention as Equal Opportunities Employer at the 1st Corporate Social Responsibility in Employment Awards

Garrigues been awarded the Mention as Equal Opportunity Employer at the 1st Corporate Social Responsibility in Employment Awards launched by the Madrid Regional Government through the Department of Economy, Employment and Finance. These awards recognize the work of companies and organizations that adopt measures to help improve working conditions and enhance employee wellbeing.

During the awards ceremony held at Real Casa de Correos, Ángel Garrido, President of the Madrid Regional Government, highlighted that these corporate social responsibility initiatives also translate into “enhanced productivity and competitiveness at companies, and contribute to social cohesion by supporting families and access to employment by those facing the greatest difficulties.”

Lourdes Ramos, Director of Human Resources at Garrigues, picked up the accolade on behalf of the firm and stated that “this mention constitutes major recognition for the measures introduced by the firm in recent years to achieve real and effective equality.”

This recognition comes on top of the Equal Opportunity Employer certification bestowed on Garrigues by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality. In 2008, the firm broke new ground as one of the first law firms to implement an Equality Plan, and launched its second plan in 2017. Recent measures promoted by Garrigues notably include the Mentoring Program, designed to support professionals by providing them with tools and methodologies that foster their development at the firm, and the Garrigues Optimum Plan, which offers personnel the chance to reduce their working hours in the two years following the end of their maternity or paternity leave, with no reduction in pay and without affecting their career development.

The 1st Corporate Social Responsibility in Employment Awards also recognized Philips (Award for the company with more than 50 employees); CEIM (Award for the company with less than 50 employees); Ilunion (Mention for Workforce Diversity); Justesa Imagen (Mention for Work/Life Balance); Mutua Madrileña (Mention for Combating Gender Violence); Sincro Asesores de Empresas (Mention for promoting Corporate Social Responsibility); and the Spanish Breast Cancer Group (GEICAM) (Mention for Improving Working Conditions).
