Garrigues is once again the firm with the highest number of professionals in the Best Lawyers ranking for Spain. Specifically, it has 257. It is also named best law firm of the year in the Labor law and Tax law practice areas.
This year, Garrigues has been ranked in the first position in the ranking of Best Companies to Work For, of the journal Actualidad Económica.
Garrigues’ offices in Latin America have moved up the ranking in the latest edition of international directory The Legal 500. The firm has achieved recognition of its practice areas in the different jurisdictions in which it operates in the region. In total, the firm obtained two new Tier 1 rankings, four new departments entered the ranking and eight practice areas improved their position.
Garrigues leads the rankings of law firms by value and number of M&A deals in Spain in the first half of 2018, according to business intelligence platform TTR. The firm is also ranked top by Mergermarket by number of deals.
For the fifth year, Garrigues was voted the best law firm to work for by Law university students participating in the 2018 Most Attractive Employer survey conducted by Universum, a leading global employer branding company. Google is the favorite firm for Business, Humanities and Engineering students, and Sanitas, for those studying Health Sciences.
Garrigues is the only law firm to be featured in the ranking published by Monitor Empresarial de Reputación Corporativa (Merco), featuring the top 100 companies with the best corporate reputation. Garrigues has moved up the list yet again: the firm is ranked 54th, three positions higher than last year.
The Garrigues partners Mónica Martín de Vidales, joint head of the Corporate/Commercial Law Department, Rosa Zarza, head of the Labor and Employment Law Department and Susana Pimenta de Sousa, from the Portugal office, feature in Iberian Lawyer’s new ranking of the Top 50 women in the legal industry in Spain and Portugal.
Latin Finance, an economic publication that covers current affairs in Latin America and the Caribbean presented the award after analyzing nominations made by the different players in the industry. In evaluating the work performed by the nominees, the strategy, volume and variety of transactions, innovation and quality of execution were taken into account, as well as whether the projects brought social and economic benefits, thereby contributing to growth in the region..
