The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) enables entrepreneurs who, due to the coronavirus epidemic, may have issues with paying their ongoing contributions to take advantage of the possibilities under de minimis public aid by:

• postponing by 3 months the deadline for paying contributions for the period from February to April 2020,
• suspension for 3 months of the execution of the agreement concluded with ZUS, in which the deadline for payment of instalments or contributions was set in the period from March to May 2020, and thus extending the deadline for execution of the concluded agreement by 3 months.

Entrepreneurs keeping full accounts are obliged to attach to the application financial statements for 2018 or 2019.

Moreover, please note that it will not be possible to obtain the abovementioned relief if in the last 3 years the amount of received de minimis public aid exceeded EUR 200.000.

Positive consideration of the application by ZUS will result in the office sending to the entrepreneur an agreement with the necessary documentation concerning public aid. Signed documents should be sent back to ZUS (submitted to the office or sent by post). Due to the prevailing epidemiological threat, ZUS makes it possible to send scanned documents to the e-mail address of the competent ZUS branch. However, within 14 days of the end of the epidemic hazard at the latest, original documents in paper form should be sent to ZUS.

If, within the next 3 months, the entrepreneur's financial situation does not improve, he will retain the right to submit an application for renegotiation of the agreement concluded with ZUS.
