The Official State Gazette has published the Resolution of October 17, 2025, of the Directorate-General of Labor, publishing the list of public holidays for the year 2026, which includes the public holidays scheduled for next year.
The following public holidays will be common holidays throughout Spain and will be paid and non-recoverable:
- Thursday January 1 (New Year's Day)
- Friday April 3 (Good Friday)
- Friday May 1 (Labor Day)
- Saturday August 15 (Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary)
- Monday October 12 (Spanish National Day)
- Tuesday December 8 (Immaculate Conception Day)

In addition to these national public holidays, the autonomous communities set other public holidays, which are listed in the calendar attached to the resolution (including January 6, which has been established by all the autonomous communities).
