Mexico simplifies the Registry of Specialized Service Providers or Specialized Works Providers (REPSE) and reduces processing times to 5 days for small companies

Mexico -

A new agreement in Mexico streamlines the registration of specialized services by reducing requirements for small businesses and introducing faster resolution times. This reform aims to ease administrative burdens and accelerate key procedures before the labor authority.

On June 9, 2026, an agreement was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation introducing new simplification measures for the registration of individuals or legal entities that provide specialized services or perform specialized works, along with amendments to the third paragraph of article 15 of the Federal Labor Law.

This agreement aims to make procedures before the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare clearer and to improve resolution times.

Among the new simplification measures for the Registry of Specialized Service Providers are the following:

These simplification measures will apply only to individual employers or legal entities with up to 10 employees, except for proof of address, which remains required.

Additionally, the registration, cancellation, and renewal procedures will be unified under the name Registry of Specialized Service Providers or Specialized Works Providers, with the single procedure code STPS-086-002.

Furthermore, the online forms for registration, updating, and cancellation will require the following documentation:

Finally, the resolution period set forth in the third paragraph of article 15 of the Federal Labor Law was reduced as follows:

Individuals or legal entities with more than 10 employees will continue to be subject to article 8 of the agreement establishing the general provisions for the registration of specialized service or works providers under article 15 of the Federal Labor Law.
