African Arbitration Association launched
On 29 June 2018 the Africa Arbitration Association was launched at an event in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
LCIA closes local Mauritius MIAC Arbitration Centre
LCIA and the government of Mauritius have mutually agreed to terminate the 2012 joint venture agreement which established the LCIA-MIAC Arbitration Centre – a focal point for international arbitration in Africa for the past seven years – making way for a new, independently-run centre, called simply MIAC.
ICC launches an Africa Commission
The ICC International Court of Arbitration has launched an Africa Commission to coordinate its “expanding range of activities and growth on the continent” and expand the pool of African arbitrators.
