Garrigues named Spain Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Europe Awards 2026
The award recognizes the firm’s leadership in the Spanish legal market following the annual research carried out by Chambers & Partners
Garrigues has been named Spain Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers Europe Awards 2026 in Madrid, considered to be one of the most prestigious accolades in the European legal services sector.
The award is the result of annual research carried out by the independent British publication Chambers & Partners for the preparation of its prestigious European directory. The assessment process analyzes, among other factors, major legal achievements, strategic growth and capacity for innovation, excellence in client service and each firm’s contribution at regional and national level.
In this year’s edition, Garrigues has been ranked as the leading firm in Spain, with 26 practice areas classed as Band 1, six more than last year (Capital Markets: Debt; Corporate / Commercial: Barcelona; Energy & Natural Resources; Environment, Social & Governance (ESG); Public Law: Barcelona; and Transportation). Moreover, eight other areas were ranked Band 2, three were classed as Band 3 and two as Band 4, taking the total to 39 practice areas recognized by the ranking. Individually, 121 professionals in Spain and 30 in Portugal were distinguished by the directory.
Among the milestones that contributed to this recognition, Garrigues once again broke its revenue record in 2025, posting revenues of €527.69 million, up 9.51% on last year. With this, the firm—the EU market leader by revenue—has achieved 12 consecutive years of growth. In line with its strategy of consolidation in Latin America, the firm has also recently incorporated Chilean firm Barros, Silva, Varela & Vigil (BSVV), a multiservice law firm with over a decade of experience and a team of over 130 lawyers.
This recognition by Chambers comes on top of the other accolades received by Garrigues so far this year. The firm has been recognized as M&A market leader in Spain by number of deals, according to TTR; was ranked top of the Chambers Global 2026 ranking in Spain; and has been chosen by students as the best law firm to work for, according to the Merco University Talent ranking.
