Garrigues is named 'Infrastructure Law Firm of the Year: Southern Cone' by LatinFinance
Two deals on which the firm advised were also named among the best in Latin America
Garrigues has been named Law Firm of the Year: Southern Cone (Argentina, Chile and Uruguay) in the most recent edition of the Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards organized by the financial publication LatinFinance. This award recognizes the firm's work advising on the execution and financing of some of the most significant infrastructure projects in the region.
In addition to this distinction, two deals for which Garrigues provided advisory services were named the best in Latin America, in the Renewable Energy and Water & Sanitation categories. The former is the US$1 billion financing for Glenfarne's acquisition of the portfolio of GAC RS Chile II SpA, the latter being Sacyr Agua's Salar del Carmen water reuse project.
The firm also received an Honorable Mention for its advice to EIG on the acquisition of a 49.9% stake in Transportadora de Gas del Perú S.A.
Each year, the LatinFinance Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards recognize the most outstanding deals, projects and financing operations in the infrastructure and project finance sector across Latin America.
These accolades further strengthen Garrigues' position as one of the leading law firms in Latin America. They follow its recognition as a Highly Recommended Firm in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru by the Latin Lawyer 250 guide, as well as the Law Firm of the Year awards it received in Chile and Peru at the Deals of the Year Awards, also given by LatinFinance.
