Garrigues named best law firm in Peru and Chile by LatinFinance
The firm also won awards for two financial deals in both countries
Garrigues has been named Law Firm of the Year in Peru and Chile at the 2025 Deals of the Year Awards, organized by LatinFinance. These awards, which are regarded as some of the most prestigious in the legal arena in Latin America, each year recognize the most outstanding deals and institutions in the capital markets across Latin America and the Caribbean.
In this edition, two deals in which Garrigues acted as legal advisor, were chosen among the best of the year. The Chile team received the Quasi-Sovereign High-Grade Bond of the Year award for advising the bookrunners - BofA, Citigroup, J.P. Morgan and Santander - on the financing of Corporación Nacional del Cobre de Chile (Codelco) for $1.5 billion, aimed at strategic long-term projects. The Peru team in turn received the Sovereign Local Currency Deal of the Year award for its advice to the Republic of Peru on the issuance of 10 billion soles in sovereign bonds.
In addition to these awards, Garrigues also received two honorable mentions for other notable deals: the Chile team’s advice to Colbún on the $500 million issuance of green bonds on the international market and the Peru team’s advice to Deutsche Bank, J.P. Morgan and Santander on the second international bond issuance by Kallpa Generación for $700 million.
