FT honors Garrigues as the most innovative law firm of Continental Europe

Garrigues has received the award for the “Most Innovative Law Firm of Continental Europe’ in the ‘FT Innovative Lawyers Awards’ organized each year by the prestigious newspaper Financial Times and the specialized consultant RSG Consulting. The awards ceremony was held for the first time as a virtual gala, which accentuated the importance of the role of collaboration in a year marked by the COVID-19 public health crisis.

“We are not capable of predicting the future, but we can prepare ourselves for all possible futures. This is the Garrigues philosophy with respect to innovation: to ensure that everyone has the right attitude and the necessary tools to enable them to face challenges and accompany our clients every day”, affirms the executive chairman of Garrigues, Fernando Vives. “This award motivates us to continue innovating, seeking the best way to anticipate our clients’ needs and to be more efficient and creative”.

In the innovation report accompanying these awards, the Financial Times highlights two Garrigues projects. In the specific category of how firms have responded to COVID-19, the newspaper “highly commends” the capacity of the Garrigues Labor Department to serve its clients in the management of temporary layoff procedures (ERTE), thanks to its foresight and use of technology. In digital innovation and transformation, the Financial Times “commends” the Agiliz@ project, focused on automization, robotization and artificial intelligence. Eduardo Abad, the partner at the head of the Tax Department who leads Agiliz@, was selected as one of the ten most innovative European lawyers of the year.
