Colombia: Enactment of a new holiday

The Congress of the Republic has declared 9 July as a national holiday.
On June 1, 2026, the Congress of the Republic enacted Law No. 2578 of 2026, by which it declared the day of Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá to be commemorated annually on July 9th as a national public holiday, mandatory throughout the Colombian Republic territory.
Accordingly, all workers, both in the public and private sectors, shall be entitled to paid leave in observance of this religious celebration.
