Planning and Zoning

We provide expert advice on planning, management, execution and enforcement to public sector entities, approved development participating entities, private enterprises and individuals, preparing reports and legal opinions, performing due diligence reviews, holding negotiations and acting as legal counsel in administrative and judicial review proceedings relating to all planning and zoning matters.

We offer legal advice to municipal councils on the drafting of master plans, as well as subdivision plats, special plans and urban development plans for implementing master plans, basically on private initiative. We also carry out studies on the planning instruments applicable to projects, perform due diligence reviews and issue reports and legal opinions on a wide range of related matters that may be requested by our clients.

We provide legal assistance in the negotiation of zoning contracts with the public authorities on planning and management matters, drafting the contracts and handling the related formalities, including those relating to zoning management by development agents.

We offer legal advice on steps for implementing zoning plans in general involving public and private initiative. We also advise on the creation of approved development participating entities, such as development apportionment entities, upkeep and maintenance entities, etc. and participate in the drafting and processing of equal distribution plans (reparceling, apportionment). We also provide advice on condemnation proceedings.

We advise on applications for construction licenses and any other zoning licenses required (occupancy, operating, etc.).
