For the second time in a row, Garrigues has been named Transatlantic Independent Law Firm of the Year for its cross-border activity and its regional presence in Europe and America. This award is granted each year by the international media group, ALM, based in the US and the UK, which publishes specialized legal titles, such as The American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel or Legal Week.

The Transatlantic Legal Awards, handed out last night in London, recognize the excellence and innovation of international firms operating on both sides of the Atlantic, especially focusing on the firms’ capacity to coordinate major transactions between the two continents. In this context, one of the aspects valued most highly was Garrigues’ Latin American network, with local teams and its own offices in Colombia, Peru, Mexico, Chile and Brazil. The ALM editorial team also valued the firm’s specialization in more than thirty area of law, Garrigues’ leadership in the Iberian market (with billings of €364.6 million) and the firm’s presence in major international financial centres such as New York, London, Shanghai and Beijing. These strategic cities enable it to advise its clients (hailing from more than 85 countries) on transactions and investments between Asia, America and the European continent.

Equally important in tipping the scales in its favour was the firm’s investment in innovation and technology projects, its use of artificial intelligence and legaltech tools, as well as its commitment to talent, diversity and corporate social responsibility.
