Our priority: equal opportunities and work-life balance

Diversity of talent: our people come from a range of generations and backgrounds, with differing concerns and ways of thinking, but we all share the same values: excellence, ethics and an innovative mindset.

Work-life balance and flexible working

We firmly believe that an equal opportunity work environment that facilitates a better work-life balance and encourages personal and professional growth enriches our organization as a whole. Our programs foster a better work-life balance, promote shared responsibility and are synonymous with commitment, trust and efficient and flexible management of work.

  • Home Office Plan

Our people can choose to combine working in the office with working remotely on certain days under the plan.

  • Optimum Plan

New parents can reduce their working hours following the end of their parental leave for a period of two years, with no impact on their career progression and no reduction in pay.

  • Female Mentoring Program

Female associates and senior associates can sign up for this annual mentoring program, which provides them with tools and methods to further their professional development. Over 300 people have taken part in the program so far.

True gender equality

We focus on ensuring gender equality at all levels of the organization, with real and specific measures that go above and beyond legal compliance. Since 2017, we have been certified as an Equal Opportunity Employer by the Spanish Ministry of Equality, a mark of excellence granted to companies that excel in the application of gender equality policies.

In 2008, we anticipated the regulatory trend and published our first Equality Plan, a pioneering initiative in the legal services sector. Our Fourth Equality Plan, approved in November 2022, defines the objectives and tools that ensure gender equality at Garrigues.

The Equality Committee, together with the management team and the HR Department, closely monitors the implementation of the Equality Plan to ensure that all equality and diversity measures adopted by the firm are observed and applied.

Equality and the SDGs

For many years now, we have integrated our ESG approach into our corporate strategy, helping contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In terms of diversity and inclusion, we are firmly committed to gender equality and to reducing inequalities, not only within our team but also in society as a whole, through pro bono work, corporate volunteering and the hiring of people with disabilities.
