Tomás Fontaine is an associate in the Corporate, M&A, Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development area of Garrigues' Santiago de Chile office.
His practice focuses on advising clients on corporate governance and corporate and contractual law matters, as well as on sales and purchases of companies. He has participated in acquisition and divestment transactions in sectors including technology, energy, logistics and real estate, among others. He previously practiced as a paralegal at a firm specialized in corporate law.
Experience
Tomás has provided advice to domestic and international clients on corporate transactions and M&A processes. He also provides ongoing advice on contractual matters, including the preparation, review and negotiation of civil and commercial contracts, and on corporate law matters, including the structuring and formalization of corporate resolutions and all kinds of corporate acts. He pursues his practice in areas such as services, energy, real estate, technology, logistics and retail, among others.
Prior to joining Garrigues, Tomás was an associate at Barros Silva Varela & Vigil (2023-2026). Previously, he had worked as a paralegal at Fontaine y Cía (2020–2022) and had also been a trainee at the same firm.
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
