He qualified as a lawyer at Universidad de Monterrey, as a Public Accountant at Universidad del Valle de México, and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law.
Experience
Ricardo Martínez is a senior associate in the corporate and commercial and mergers and acquisitions practice area and has extensive experience advising domestic and foreign companies and investors on transactional matters and corporate matters arising in the ordinary course of company business. In particular, he has represented U.S., Asian and European companies in the acquisition of different Mexican companies linked to the automotive, steel, packaging, food, industrial equipment and water heater industries, among others.
Ricardo has been involved in cross-border corporate financing operations involving the provision of Mexican security interests to finance acquisitions or ordinary business operations. He also advises a number of families on the design of corporate structures and trusts, among other legal vehicles, for estate and succession planning purposes.
Following his master's studies, he worked at CDW LLC, an American public company based in Chicago which is a member of the S&P 500 Index and Fortune 500, as in-house counsel in the area of mergers, acquisitions and strategic matters.
