Marta Graça Rodrigues is a partner in the areas of Corporate Law and Commercial Contracts, Mergers & Acquisitions, Security Markets, Banking and Finance at Garrigues since 2011.
Marta Graça Rodrigues was a trainee lawyer at Leónidas, Matos & Associados - Sociedade de Advogados from 2000 to 2001; Lawyer at Leónidas, Matos & Associados – Sociedade de Advogados from 2001 to 2005; Senior Associate at Garrigues Portugal from 2005 to 2011.
Before joining Garrigues, she was advisor to the Secretary of State for the Presidency of the Council of Ministers by invitation of the Secretary of State in connection with the Protocol executed with the Universidade Católica Portuguesa and the Law Faculties of Lisbon and Coimbra from 2000 to 2001, having commenced her professional career as an intern at Pena, Machete, Botelho Moniz, Ruiz e Associados from 1999 to 2000.
With an extensive experience in M&A and corporate transactions and also in capital markets and corporate governance she has been consistently involved in some of the largest and more complex, sophisticated and innovative M&A, corporate finance and capital markets cross-border transactions executed in the Portuguese market in the recent years. In particular, she has provided advice in some prominent transactions including IPO’s, takeover bids and public offerings.
Marta advises clients regularly on all legal issues relating to corporate and securities laws. She also provides regulatory assistance on a regular basis in the area of collective investment funds.
She provides continuous assistance for some of the largest listed companies in Portugal in the telecommunications, media, IP/IT and banking areas, notably representing such companies before the Portuguese Securities Commission and the Euronext.
Marta Graça Rodrigues has been singled out by several legal directories, such as Chamber Global, Chambers Europe (Band 2 in Capital Markets), The Legal 500, IFLR 1000 and Best Lawyers.
Member of the Brazilian Bar Association since 2013 and member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2001.
