Luis Pérez Casas is a senior associate with the Real Estate Department at Garrigues, a firm he joined in September 2025 after building his professional career at the Madrid office of an international firm.

He advises national and international companies on real estate, corporate real estate and real estate M&A matters, including investment funds, institutional investors, private equity firms, real estate developers, asset managers and financial institutions, across all asset classes and during the entire life cycle of real estate investments.

Experience

Luis has experience advising, from a corporate real estate perspective, investment funds, institutional investors, private equity firms, real estate developers, asset managers and financial institutions in connection with their complex transactions involving acquisitions and disposals of real estate assets (single assets or real estate portfolios, both domestic and cross-border), including forward purchase and sale-and-leaseback structures, M&A transactions involving companies with real estate components, financing and refinancing for acquisition and/or development of projects, formation of joint ventures for real estate investment, restructuring and distressed asset transactions, including insolvency and pre-insolvency scenarios, construction and development matters, turnkey projects and delegated development, management agreements (asset management and property management), commercial leases and hotel management agreements.

He participates in transactions in respect of the different real estate segments and across all asset classes, including residential build-to-rent, flex living (having been involved in some of the most significant transactions in the Spanish flex living market, both in terms of the size of the different portfolios and number of units of the relevant assets individually considered, and overall market relevance), retail and shopping centers, student accommodation, logistics and industrial, offices and hospitality.

Academic background

  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
  • Master of Laws (LL.M) and Legal Practice (Acceso a la Abogacía) from IE Law School.

Memberships

  • Member of the Madrid Bar Association.
  • Member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI).
