Julian Belsito is a senior associate within the Corporate Law department at the Madrid office of Garrigues, where he joined in 2017. His professional activity focuses on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, contractual law, and corporate governance across various sectors and industries, with a particular expertise in renewable energies. His experience also extends to banking law.
Julian has spent most of his professional career at Garrigues. Between September 2022 and May 2023, he was seconded to the corporate law team of the Italian firm PedersoliGattai in Milan.
Experience
Julian Belsito primarily advises on mergers and acquisitions, commercial contracts, and corporate governance.
In mergers and acquisitions, he assists industrial players as well as national and international private equity funds in key transactions such as investments, divestments, and joint ventures both domestically and internationally. He has advised across a wide range of sectors and industries, with a special focus on renewable energies.
Within the renewable energy sector, he has been involved in numerous key transactions involving various technologies such as wind, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, biogas, hydropower, and green hydrogen. His involvement spans competitive bidding processes, bilateral negotiations, and positions on both sides of the transaction, as buyer and seller.
In terms of his commercial contracting expertise, he has provided advice on drafting and negotiating supply and transportation contracts, as well as contracts related to the development of renewable energy projects such as EPC, O&M, AMA, DSA, and BOP.
He also provides ongoing advice on corporate governance matters and corporate restructuring to Spanish companies and international groups with a presence in Spain.
Julian is a member of Garrigues' Italian Desk and has extensive experience in providing legal advice on matters related to the Italian jurisdiction.
