Jorge Vigil is a partner in the Corporate and M&A area of Garrigues' Santiago de Chile office. His practice is focused on highly complex M&A transactions in such industries as telecommunications, infrastructure, agribusiness, energy and pharmaceuticals. He advises on private equity, venture capital and joint venture transactions, as well as on corporate governance matters and internal reorganizations of companies. He also has experience in resolving disputes among partners and shareholders and in advising boards of directors. He holds an LL.M. from the London School of Economics and Political Science, in the United Kingdom.

His practice centers on M&A and corporate law, with a focus on highly complex deals, private equity and venture capital transactions, joint ventures and corporate reorganizations. He has advised companies and investors in the telecommunications, infrastructure, agribusiness, energy, pharmaceutical and technology industries, on both domestic and cross-border transactions. His expertise also includes advising boards of directors on corporate governance matters and resolving disputes among partners and shareholders.
He was a founding partner of Barros Silva Varela & Vigil from 2012 until its integration with Garrigues in 2026. Prior to that, he was an associate at Philippi Prietocarrizosa Ferrero DU & Uría (2007–2012), a foreign associate at Latham & Watkins in London (2011–2012), and an associate at Urenda Rencoret Orrego & Dorr (2005–2006).
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
