Joaquín is an associate in the Corporate and M&A area of Garrigues’ Santiago de Chile office. He has experience in corporate law, mining, energy and natural resources, advising clients on the acquisition, structuring and development of projects. He has participated in due diligence processes and in the negotiation and drafting of contracts linked to mining, energy and infrastructure projects. He has also advised on regulatory matters related to mining concessions, geothermal energy, lithium mining and the grant of rights to use state-owned land for project development. He holds an LL.M. in International Business Law from King’s College London.

Joaquín has experience in corporate transactions and regulatory matters relating to the mining, energy and natural resources sectors. He advises clients on the development, acquisition and structuring of projects and on the obtainment of concessions and sector-specific authorizations.
He has participated in due diligence processes and in the negotiation and drafting of contracts linked to mining, energy and infrastructure projects. He also has experience in administrative and court proceedings, and in handling applications for concessions for the use of state-owned land for project development.
Prior to joining Garrigues, Joaquín was an associate at Barros Silva Varela & Vigil (2023-2026). Previously he worked as legal adviser to the Office of the Minister of National Assets (2021-2022) and as an analyst in the Ministry’s legal division (2021).
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
