Experience
Ian Forsyth is an associate in the banking and finance, securities markets, corporate law and commercial contracts, and mergers and acquisitions practices.
He is part of Garrigues since 2016, when he joined as an intern of corporate law and commercial contracts.
He has experience in infrastructure project finance and development, public-private partnerships, capital markets, banking finance, and mergers and acquisitions. He provides advice to investors and sponsors, investment and commercial banks, as well as multilateral and government agencies on matters relating to finance, infrastructure and transport, participating in the main deals of the Peruvian market.
He has been a teaching assistant of Legal Persons, Theory of Conflict and Dispute Resolution and Integration Seminar on Procedural Strategy and Oral Litigation at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He has been a teaching assistant of Project Finance at Universidad del Pacifico.
He is a member of the Lima Bar Association. Likewise, he has been a member of Themis, a law review published by students of the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (2014); and, member of the team that represented the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru in the X International Arbitration Competition organized by Universidad de Buenos Aires and Universidad del Rosario (2017) and member of the winning team of the X International Arbitration Moot Court Competition (MOOT Madrid) organized by University Carlos III of Madrid and UNCITRAL (2018).
