Fernando is a Principal Associate in the EU & Antitrust department at Garrigues’ Madrid office, advising both national companies and multinational groups. He has a broad experience in European and national cases involving cartels, restrictive practices and abuses of dominant position before the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC) and the Spanish Courts. In addition, Fernando has been involved in major international merger control cases before the European Commission, the CNMC and national competition authorities in other jurisdictions, in a broad range of sectors and industries. He was recognized by Legal 500 as Rising Star.
Experience
Fernando Las Navas joined the firm in March 2020 and is a Principal Associate in the EU & Antitrust department. Before joining Garrigues, Fernando worked for nine years in one of the Magic Circle firms in Madrid, including one year in Paris.
Fernando has extensive experience in Spanish and EU cases relating to cartels, anticompetitive conduct, and abuses of dominant position before the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC) and the Spanish courts (National Appellate Court and Supreme Court). In addition, he has been involved in major international merger control cases before the European Commission, the CNMC and national competition authorities in other jurisdictions, in a broad range of sectors and industries. In addition, Fernando regularly advises investment funds in merger control procedures.
He is a member of the Madrid Bar Association and is an active member of the Spanish Association of Competition Law (AEDC).
