Fernando Barros is a partner in the Corporate and M&A area of Garrigues' Santiago de Chile office. His practice focuses on corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and project financing, advising clients on high-value transactions and in the design of corporate structures and complex financial transactions.

He advises companies, corporate groups and family businesses on sales and purchases of shares and assets, private equity transactions, shareholders’ agreements and corporate reorganizations, in key sectors such as energy, infrastructure, technology, finance and industry. He complements this practice with solid experience in high-value commercial and civil litigation and arbitration, both in Chile and abroad, and also with mediation and alternative dispute resolution initiatives.

He was a founding partner of Barros Silva Varela & Vigil from 2012 until its integration with Garrigues in 2026 and during this period worked on high-value and high-profile mergers and acquisitions.
