Felipe Martínez-Caballero is a counsel in the Corporate/Commercial Law department. He joined Garrigues in 2004, where he has spent the majority of his professional career, following stints at Cuatrecasas (2000-2004) and London firm John Howell Solicitors (1998-2000).
He specializes in corporate/commercial law and has extensive experience in the areas of corporate law, commercial contracts and mergers & acquisitions, advising domestic and international clients and groups from a range of industries (food, renewable energy, technology, fashion, beverages and spirits, among others).
As a member of the M&A department, he has participated in many major corporate acquisitions and disposals, advising on the negotiation and formalization of sale and purchase contracts, shareholder agreements, joint ventures, legal due diligence reviews and corporate restructuring processes in general, leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams across different jurisdictions as part of these processes.
He also provides ongoing advice on the drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts (distribution, agency, supply, franchise, consumer contracts, etc.) and on aspects of corporate governance and board secretary services.
He is a regular speaker at seminars and training sessions organized by the Firm and by clients on aspects relating to corporate acquisitions and disposals and to commercial contracts.
Felipe Martinez-Caballero is a member of the Madrid Bar Association.
