Estíbaliz Colina is a partner in the Corporate Department at Garrigues with more than 18 years of professional experience. She specialises in commercial contracts (national and international scope), M&A transactions, real estate, corporate law (acting as secretary not a member of the board of directors in many national and multinational companies), financing and refinancing transactions, as well as data privacy, information technology, e-commerce and cybersecurity, advising clients in various sectors on these matters. She is a Data Protection Delegate in accordance with the Certification Scheme of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD-DPD) (nº CP-X3-0369/2021).
Experience
Estíbaliz Colina is a partner in the Commercial Department of Garrigues (Bilbao office), which she joined in 2010. From 2005 to 2010 she developed her professional career in the M&A Department of Deloitte, S.L. (Madrid office).
She has extensive experience in advising national and international clients on commercial contracts, M&A transactions (including share and asset deals, corporate reorganizations, real estate transactions and joint venture agreements) and corporate law (acting as secretary not member of the board of directors of several national and multinational companies). Likewise, Estíbaliz provides advice on financing and refinancing transactions, acting as an advisor to both finance providers and recipients. She also advises on data privacy (including adaptation processes, legal audits, compliance projects and legal management of cyber-attacks and security breaches), information technology and e-commerce.
Academic background
- Degree in Law with a specialisation in economics from the University of Deusto.
- Master's Degree in Business Legal Consultancy at the I.E. Business School.
- Executive Master's Degree in Digital Law and Technology at Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
- Data Protection Delegate Programme organised by Thomson Reuters (Editorial Aranzadi).
- Programme on Digital Impact in the Legal Sphere: Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence organised by Centro de Estudios Garrigues.
Teaching activity
Estíbaliz is a regular speaker at specialised forums such as ICEX, the Basque Association of Economists, Basque Health Cluster and B-Venture, and has taught at Centro de Estudio Garrigues (Executive Master's Degree in Digital Law and Technology), Deusto Business School, as well as webinars and training sessions on privacy matters for Garrigues' clients.
