Cristóbal Fainé has been a partner in the Commercial Department of Garrigues since 2020.

He has extensive experience advising both national and foreign clients, from various industries, in matters of corporate law, M&A transactions, highly complex contractual matters, foreign investment, corporate matters and capital market transactions, including:

• Legal advice on M&A transactions of companies from various industries, with a special focus on the energy and gas industry, including conducting due diligence processes, negotiating share purchase and sale agreements, shareholder agreements, among others.
• Legal advice on contractual matters of various kinds, including negotiation of purchase and sale contracts, supply contracts, lease contracts, power purchase agreements (PPA), EPC contracts, O&M contracts, TUA contracts, project development contracts, interconnection agreements, transportation agreements, distribution contracts, maquila contracts, among others.
• Foreign investment.
• Legal advice on corporate matters of various kinds, including mergers and demergers of companies, corporate reorganizations, capital increases and placement of shares, dissolution and liquidation of companies, among others.
• Legal advice to boards of listed and closed corporations.
• Capital market.

He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Prior to joining Garrigues, he worked at NDF Abogados, at Avendaño Merino Abogados, as General Counsel of the Pescanova Group companies in Chile and as associate at Cariola, Díez, Pérez-Cotapos & Cia. Ltda.

Degree in Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Diploma in Economic Administrative Law from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Member of the Chilean Bar Association.

Member of the Energy Committee of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce of Chile (CAMACOES).
