Bastián Olivares is an associate in the Competition team in Santiago, Chile.

He has experience advising on competition and regulatory compliance matters, assisting clients in merger transactions and investigations before the National Economic Prosecutor's Office, and representing clients in contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Competition Tribunal and the High Courts of Justice. He has provided advice in various regulated markets, particularly in electronic payments, critical infrastructure, and trade associations.

He also has extensive experience representing clients in arbitration and commercial litigation in construction, energy, and corporate matters, among others, as well as in contractual and pre-contractual negotiations and support. He has served on arbitration tribunals as a clerk and has represented clients in hearings before the Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Chile.

He is a professor in the Department of Procedural Law at Diego Portales University. He is also a researcher in the areas of digital regulation, data protection, cybersecurity, competition in disruptive markets, and procedural rights in administrative litigation.
