Anamaría is a senior associate at Garrigues, a firm where she has worked since 2019. She specializes in the areas of merger control, antitrust investigations, unfair competition and consumer law. Anamaría deals with the representation of national and international companies in antitrust investigations, mergers control procedures, judicial processes of unfair competition, as well as general advice to clients in competition law and consumer law.
Before joining Garrigues, Anamaría worked at a firm specializing in competition law issues. Likewise, she worked at the Group of Antitrust Investigations at the Competition Auhtority, where she participated in the recommendation of decisions to sanction hard cartels and in the application that was given for the first time of the leniency regime.
She has extensive experience in merger control procedures in the aviation, oil & gas, telecommunications, food, retail, fintech and technology sectors. She has also represented clients in different cartel investigations carried out by the Competition Authority.
In addition, she has provided advice to clients on consumer law, e-commerce and data protection.
Anamaría received a scholarship to study her Bachelor of Laws at Universidad del Rosario and graduated as a lawyer from this institution with a minor in commercial law. She has a postgraduate degree in commercial law from Universidad de Los Andes.
