Alma María Menéndez Vega is a partner of the Tax Department of Garrigues, where she performs her professional activity in the area of Tax Law. She has extensive experience in providing ongoing advisory services in the tax field, managing tax inspection proceedings, and preparing and formalizing claims and appeals in the economic-administrative and the judicial review jurisdictions. She specializes in dealing with the issues surrounding Family Businesses and, in particular, in the preparation of family protocols, and she is the head of the Family Business group in Asturias.
Experience
Alma María Menéndez Vega has been a partner of the Garrigues Tax Department since 2006, where she has been pursuing her professional career since 1993.
She has extensive experience in providing ongoing tax advisory services to clients from a range of sectors, such as food, real estate and energy, among others.
She has expertise in providing tax advice on complex corporate and asset restructuring operations of national business groups and in company acquisition and sale processes.
In the Family Business area, she advises on succession planning for numerous family businesses, and has broad experience in preparing and implementing family protocols. Alma has also acted as external advisor on various family councils and boards of family offices.
In the area of tax procedures, Alma has expertise in tax inspections, defending clients’ interests before tax inspectors and courts, and performing the legal management of numerous judicial review proceedings.
