The competition is aimed at all projects which are at an early stage of their development and consist of research initiatives in the area of Law and new technologies , including projects being developed by both national and international universities and private initiatives (entrepreneurs).

Of all the options and projects selected from universities and startup platforms, four will have the privilege of presenting their idea on the demo stage at South Summit 2017. The final winning initiative will receive a package consisting of free advisory hours to be provided by the firm’s legal experts in order to launch the project.

South Summit, which will take place on October 4, 5 and 6, has become in recent years a worldwide benchmark for innovation and startup launches.  It is now a global platform that brings together the key players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. In a mere four years, it has become the leading innovation event with 12,500 attendees from over 100 countries, 650 investors, 160 companies and over 900 million dollars raised by its finalist startups.

In launching this initiative, both Spain Startup and Garrigues seek to promote university research, strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, and foster entrepreneurship in relation to Legaltech projects. The aim is to present the entrepreneurial talent of small startups and university research centers to the international investment community.
