Garrigues takes part in the “Specialized Course on Sports Management, the Hiring of Players and Team Management”
On June 11 and 25 and on July 2 and 9, 2015 Garrigues Sports & Entertainment gave four sessions on the “Specialized Course on Sports Management, the Hiring of Players and Team Management”, organized by the LFP, focused mainly on practical tax matters arising in connection with the hiring of players.
Félix Plaza, partner in the tax department and co-director of Garrigues Sports & Entertainment, Gonzalo Rincón de Pablo, principal associate in the tax department, and Isabel Cortés Pulido, senior associate in the tax department, gave the sessions, providing a detailed examination of the tax treatment of image rights, tax-resident status, tax treatment of nonresidents, exempt income, multi-year income and compensation in kind, as well as tax withholdings, deferrals and prepayments; all from both a theoretical and a practical standpoint.
