Pedro has provided advisory services in respect of financing transactions to both local and international financial institutions, subject to Chilean or foreign laws, including recently an operation for the acquisition of a Chilean company amounting to 800 million US dollars. In infrastructures and energy, the projects on which he has provided advice most recently include the financing of a transmission line for a toll highway. He has provided advisory services in relation to over 30 financing operations for both unconventional and conventional renewable energy projects. He has represented the creditors in the renegotiation of the debt of the greater part of Chile's salmon-producing companies and many large enterprises.
He has advised the government of the Republic of Chile in relation to the placement of sovereign bonds, has participated in operations for the financing through bonds of the construction of concession highways in Chile, and has advised Chilean issuers and bond dealer banks both in Chile and abroad. He has also advised on takeover bids and sales of significant share packages.
He has served as lead counsel in the most important recent insolvency proceedings and processes for the reorganization and liquidation of companies in Chile: Pesca Chile, La Polar, and Caja de Compensación La Araucana.
He recently collaborated with China Construction Bank in relation to the obtaining of the permits required in order to open up an agency in Chile.
Pedro is a lecturer in Economic and Commercial Law at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where he teaches various subjects, and in Corporate Financing on the Master's Degree in Law course at the Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago de Chile.
He is a member of the Chilean Bar Association.
