Garrigues receives four awards in Latin America, including the Team of the Year for the Andean States in banking and finance law
This week, IFLR and Latin Lawyer recognized Garrigues’ advisory services in some of the largest project finance deals in Latin America
Garrigues was named the Team of the Year for the Andean States in banking and finance law by the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), which each year selects the best deals carried out in the Americas. In choosing the winners, the IFLR Editorial Committee takes into account the cross-border element, as well as innovation and the valuation of the companies involved.
IFLR cited the overall body of work Garrigues delivers from its offices in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, as well as Garrigues’ particular project finance work in the Red Vial 4 project, one of the most important highways in Peru. This deal, in which Garrigues advised through teams in both Peru and Spain, was named the Project Finance Deal of the Year in all of the Americas.
This week Garrigues brought home two additional awards in this field, from the intelligence platform Latin Lawyer, winning the Deal of the Year: Project Finance awards in both the energy and infrastructure categories. The deals recognized were the financing of the EnfraGen Group, one of the largest in Latin America, which involved advisory services from the Garrigues team in Chile, and the loan granted to the Peruvian port operator Tramarsa, in which professionals from Garrigues’ Lima office worked.
The IFLR and Latin Lawyer awards strengthen Garrigues’ position as a benchmark in the banking and financial law practice, and particularly in the field of project finance.
