Garrigues chosen as the best law firm to work for by law students for the sixth year running

Spain -

The reasons cited by students in the Universum survey for choosing Garrigues are the firm’s prestige and success, as well as it being a good professional credential for their career development

Garrigues has been voted the best law firm to work for by law students participating in the 2019 Most Attractive Employer survey conducted by Universum. This is the sixth year in a row that the firm has been chosen by students.

The survey by Universum, a leading global employer branding company, reveals what students rate most highly when choosing the best firm to work for. In the case of Garrigues, the favorite among law students, the main aspects highlighted by those surveyed are the firm’s prestige, its position as a leading firm, and the advantages of having such a reputable firm on their CV. They also singled out the opportunities offered by the firm for professional development and visibility.

For Laura Elorza, a human resources manager at Garrigues, this recognition means that, for yet another year, “young people see the appeal of working for a firm that recognizes that its strength is its professionals, that provides training and the means to develop its talent, and is conscious that its purpose is to place law at the service of society.”

Universum’s survey looks at the general preferences of over 31,400 Spanish university students, including more than 3,500 law students. The other most voted-for companies included Google, most popular among business, engineering and IT students, Netflix, the most appealing to humanities students, and Sanitas, most attractive to health science students.

For Garrigues, this opinion expressed by university students year on year is a reflection of its commitment to young talent, to whom it strives to offer the best opportunities. The firm offers ongoing training, the chance to work on top-tier national and international transactions –Garrigues has 32 offices in 13 countries–, geographical mobility, a well-defined career path and the opportunity to take part in teaching and pro bono activities. All within a working environment that values good co-worker rapport, rewards performance and places excellence in client service above all.

Garrigues is also respected by young people for its commitment to equality. In 2017, the Spanish Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality certified Garrigues as an Equal Opportunity Employer and this year the firm was awarded a Mention as Equal Opportunity Employer at the 1st Corporate Social Responsibility in Employment Awards by the Madrid Regional Government.
