Rubén is an Associate in the Labour Department of Garrigues Chile, where he has been practising since 2024.
His practice focuses on advising domestic and international corporate clients on individual and collective labour law, social security and immigration law matters. He has experience in labour litigation before labour courts and in administrative proceedings before the Labour Authority, as well as in providing preventive advice to companies on labour compliance and contingency management.
He complements his professional practice with a solid background in labour and procedural law, maintaining ongoing academic involvement in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Universidad de los Andes, Chile.
Experience
He joined the firm in 2024.
He advises on individual and collective labour law matters, including dismissal proceedings, labour protection claims and ordinary and summary labour proceedings. He is involved in administrative proceedings before the Labour Authority and in the development of judicial defence strategies for corporate clients. He also advises companies on social security matters and on the identification and management of labour-related risks. In addition, he provides immigration advice to corporate clients, participating in the processing of temporary, fixed-term and permanent residence visas for foreign employees.
Previously, he worked as a corporate paralegal at boutique law firm Chirgwin (2021), and as a research assistant and legislative analyst at the Centre for Public Studies and Research Libertad y Desarrollo (2020–2024).

Teaching activity
Rubén has carried out teaching activities as a teaching assistant and tutor in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Faculty of Law of Universidad de los Andes of Chile since 2019.
He has served as a teaching assistant in the Master’s Programme in Procedural Law since 2022 and in the Master’s Programme in Labour Law since 2026. He has also acted as a tutor in postgraduate diplomas in Corporate Law and Compliance since 2024, and as a teaching assistant in various undergraduate courses in Procedural Law, Labour Law and Public Law.
