Rosa Zarza is the partner in charge of the Labor and Employment Law Department of Garrigues, where she has pursued her professional career since 1990. She is an expert in employment and social security law, principally in strategic matters in the labor law and human resources areas. She also heads up Garrigues Sustainable, having led the ESG Committee since 2021.
Her fields of expertise include advice on employment issues to national and multinational companies operating across a range of industries (technology, manufacturing, finance and energy, to name but a few) and defending their interests in proceedings before the labor courts. She has extensive experience in advising on employment matters arising from corporate transactions such as mergers, spin-offs, contributions of business lines, outsourcing and externalization processes, etc.
Rosa has also managed numerous collective processes such as labor restructurings, collective layoffs, the modification, streamlining and unification of working conditions, temporary interruptions of contracts, collective labor agreement opt-outs, protocols and corporate policies.
Furthermore, she is the go-to expert on matters relating to corporate senior management and, specifically, termination processes and complex compensation systems (variable compensation, stock options, shares, flexible compensation, etc.).
Rosa Zarza features in several prestigious national and international directories. She is considered a leading lawyer (Band 1) in Chambers Europe 2022, Best Lawyers, which includes her in its list of top business lawyers. These directories also rank Garrigues as one of the top labor and employment law firms in Spain (Band/Tier 1). Rosa lectures at highly-regarded institutions such as Icade, Esade and Centro de Estudios Garrigues, where she teaches labor and employment law on the Business Law Master’s course. She is also a regular speaker at leading specialist forums such as APD, Fide and Inmark.
