Marta Barrasa is a Senior Associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Department at Garrigues, a firm where she has been practicing since September 2017. She specializes in the areas of restructuring and insolvency, as well as civil, commercial, and corporate law.
She holds a Degree in Law and a Diploma in Business Law (E1-N) from Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE) in Madrid, and completed the Master’s Degree for Admission to the Legal Profession + International Business Law at ESADE (Barcelona).
In addition to Spanish, she is fluent in English and has an intermediate level of French.
Experience
Marta Barrasa has extensive experience in insolvency and pre-insolvency matters, having advised and assisted creditors and entities in distress situations. Her work includes participation in restructuring transactions, court approval of restructuring plans, and various judicial insolvency proceedings. She has represented clients in clawback actions and in the liability phase of insolvency proceedings.
She has also been involved in corporate disputes, directors’ liability cases, agency and distribution agreements, unfair competition, and misappropriation of trade secrets. Furthermore, she has advised and represented clients in relation to contractual disputes, compliance with obligations, and non-contractual liability matters.
