María Hernández de Rojas is a senior associate of the Litigation and Arbitration Department of Garrigues and joined the firm in 2014. She specializes in litigation relating to civil matters and insolvency and in electricity industry lawsuits. She not only provides prelitigation advice but also handles the lawsuits. She holds a Degree in Law and a Master’s Degree in Stock Exchanges and Financial Markets.
Experience
María Hernández de Rojas has been a senior associate in the Litigation and Arbitration Department of Garrigues in Las Palmas since 2021, having joined the firm in 2014. Prior to joining Garrigues, she provided legal advice on judicial review processes and in the legal services department of the SME insolvency center of financial institution BBVA, S.A.
Over the course of her professional career, she has participated in extremely complex lawsuits, including:
- Insolvency proceedings, from the application for an insolvency order through to the end of the proceeding.
- Corporate lawsuits (challenge of corporate resolutions).
- Lawsuits related to maritime law.
- Lawsuits regarding the defense of freedom of expression and information and the right to honor, privacy and one’s own image.
- Arbitration proceedings.
She also provides ongoing advisory services in relation to the electricity industry and electricity industry legislation.
