María Estévez is a senior associate in the Madrid office.
She specialises in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and private equity transactions, both domestic and cross-border, as well as corporate matters and commercial contracts.
María holds a dual degree in Law and Business Administration from Universidad Pontificia de Comillas (ICADE).
Experience
María Estévez joined the Madrid M&A team in September 2019. Her practice centres on M&A and private equity transactions.
Since joining the firm, she has been involved in a wide range of complex transactions, including:
- Share and asset acquisitions, in both competitive and bilateral processes;
- Joint ventures and other strategic investment arrangements;
- Domestic and cross-border mergers;
- Corporate restructurings.
María regularly advises domestic and international private equity funds, industrial operators and family-owned businesses. She also provides ongoing counsel to Spanish companies and multinational groups on corporate governance and commercial contracting matters, acting as vice-secretary in certain Spanish companies.
Throughout her career, she has developed particular expertise in the pharmaceutical, real estate (including hotels and PBSA) and aviation sectors.
In 2025, she completed a secondment to the firm's London office, where she worked closely with leading international investment funds.

- Master's Degree in Legal Practice from Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (U.N.E.D.)
