Ignacio Campino is a partner in the Tax Law Department of Garrigues’ Santiago de Chile office.
His practice focuses on advising companies and individuals on the most varied tax needs, actively participating in corporate and asset restructuring, reorganizations (contributions of assets, divisions, and mergers), financing and investment projects from and to abroad. He also has extensive experience in acquisitions and divestitures. Ignacio has a Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master of Laws from the London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom.
Ignacio has been a partner at Garrigues since 2023. Prior to joining, he was a partner at Pereira Covarrubias Montes Abogados.
Experience
His work focuses mainly on providing tax advice to various Chilean and foreign clients, in the development of their businesses or projects both in Chile and abroad. He has provided tax advice to large mining, healthcare, electrical, mas consumption (retail) companies, real estate projects, automotive companies, among others. Likewise, his practice focuses on the resolution of conflicts with the tax administration, intervening both the administrative (before the Internal Revenue Service itself) and judicial jurisdictions (before the Tax and Customs Courts, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court).
Ignacio has been a partner at Garrigues since 2023. Prior to joining as a partner at Garrigues, he was a partner at Pereira Covarrubias Montes Abogados. Previously he worked in the tax team at Bofill Mir & Alvarez Jana Abogados and at Cariola Diez Pérez-Cotapos y Cía.
Academic background
Graduate in Legal and Social Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2003); Law Degree granted by the Supreme Court of Chile (2007). Master of Laws (LLM) in Taxation, London School of Economics and Political Science, United Kingdom (2014).
Teaching activity
Adjunct professor at the Pontifical Catholic University, teaching the International Taxation course (2016).
