Jorge has over 10 years’ experience in the tax law practice. His practice is primarily focused on national and international corporate tax as well as wealth advisory issues. He has experience in a variety of tax matters, such as M&A, corporate restructuring processes, transfer pricing and legal audits. His experience also comprises tax litigation and the implementation of defense strategies before the tax authorities and courts.
Experience
Jorge López is a partner in the Tax practice. He has solid experience in the tax field, including handling complex tax refund procedures, tax litigation and providing transactional advisory services.
He has advised different national and multinational companies in complex value added tax refund procedures, representing them before the tax authorities and in related litigation. He also assists multinationals in the structuring and implementation, or restructuring, of their operations and businesses in Mexico.
Jorge has experience in national and international mergers and acquisitions, and in representing companies in tax audits as well as in conclusive settlements before the Mexican Tax Advocate (PRODECON).
He also advises private and public investment funds, from their formation through to maturity, as well as assisting multinationals in their toll manufacturing operations in Mexico. In addition, he offers advisory services to private-sector clients on asset strategies.
Jorge is fluent in English and Spanish.
